An extension of school-wide involvement in the PLS Citizenship Program was the development of the PLS Citizenship Concern Form. Structured around the PLS Pledge, this form was designed to provide an accountability system for situations when a student's behavior doesn't reflect the spirit of good citizenship and the guiding principles of the PLS Pledge. When a serious incident of misbehavior occurs, the supervisor intervenes and instructs the student to complete the PLS Citizenship Form. The form is then processed with the student and sent home for parent signature. A copy is given to the principal and the classroom teacher. This procedure emphasizes the importance of the character education philosophy upon which this program is built. It also utilizes a team approach which includes parents and places responsibility upon the student to be a good citizen at PLS.
