The students at MPLS celebrated COOPERATION by being helpful members of all the groups they work together with.  When problems arose, they used the conflict management skills to reach win-win solutions.

Cooperate and Be a Team Player: April 2001 Theme

This is a skit for a Citizenship Assembly on the things you need to do to Cooperate and Be A Team Player: Positive Attitude, Stay On Task, Respect Everyone's Ideas, and Do Your Share. Students like to see their teachers on stage introducing the themes for the month.

Setting: The principal is giving the teachers a task to complete - our example was reading standards and benchmarks. The teachers are meeting together to get this task started.

The teachers begin to talk just like at a faculty meeting, and then Person 1 talks. 
Person 1__________:I think this is a really dumb thing that the principal wants us to do. It's just a waste of time.

The narrator plays a note on the piano or any other sound you want to use. This stops the teachers and then the narrator will say, "Have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE." This can also be displayed visually.

The teachers begin to talk again about what they are doing, and then Person 2 talks.

Person 2___________: You won't believe what happened to me this weekend!!! I was……

The narrator plays a note on the piano or any other sound you want to use. This stops the teachers and then the narrator will say, "STAY ON TASK." Then show the visual.

The teachers begin to talk again about what they are doing, and then Person 3 talks.

Person 3_________: You've got to be kidding-we should put that into our standards? Where did you get that idea?

The narrator plays a note on the piano or any other sound you want to use. This stops the teachers and then the narrator will say, "Make sure to RESPECT EVERYONE'S IDEAS." Then show the visual.

The teachers begin to talk again about what they are doing, and then Person 4 talks.

Person 4________: I don't have time to work on this. You'll have to work on this by yourselves.

The narrator plays a note on the piano or any other sound you want to use. This stops the teachers and then the narrator will say, " DO YOUR SHARE of the work."
