The students at MPLS celebrated RULES AND SAFETY by
consciously following school rules. These specific all-school
rules examined the total school day: before school, classroom,
lunch, recess and after school. Individual classrooms also
identified, displayed and obeyed their own rules.
Skits
Cooperate and Walk in the Hallways
This is a skit teaching how to cooperate and walk in the hallways.
Setting: Study Hall 2nd period
High school students are working at their desks
Students walking to PE from 3rd grade: talking loudly, meet someone in
the hallway, they're on the wrong side, jump on a classmate.
High School students: There they go again-it must be the 3rd graders.
They are so loud; don't they know that they aren't being respectful of
my class time. Don't they know that we're trying to LEARN in here? I
wish they'd be more RESPONSIBLE.
KIDS: I think we bothered that class. I guess we were pretty loud.
Maybe we'd better apologize. "Sorry we were so loud. It won't happen
again."
Then the 3rd grade students walk by quietly.
The high school students say, "They're an awesome class. I am glad they
turned out to be RESPECTFUL, and to not interrupt my learning. Now they
are being RESPONSIBLE and doing the right thing."
