Our planet needs to be taken care of.  Students need to understand, appreciate, and share this with future generations.  It needs to be built into their consciousness.  Our Citizenship Assemblies have talked about recycling and reusing.  We have also worked on beautification projects at our school.

1. Beautification: March 1995 Theme

One class developed a "Beautification Project" in which sections of the school were assigned to each classroom to maintain (keep picked up). Signs were placed in each section acknowledging which class was responsible for the beautification. This idea is similar to the road signs along the highway that indicate what group is cleaning up the ditches.
