Issues Involved in the
Establishment and Sustainability of
School Foundations

Purpose of the conference

The purpose of the  conference is to stimulate dialog in Iowa which addresses issues surrounding fundraising for elementary and secondary education and the development of school foundations, options for resolution of issues, and recommendations for generating and receiving private dollars for education.

Outcomes of the conference

A. Build a knowledge base relative to critical issues surrounding fundraising for public and private schools and the development of school foundations and disseminate the knowledge base to conference participants, school leaders, heads of business and industry, and community leaders.

B. Use the knowledge base to make recommendations which will assist school districts in generating and receiving private dollars for education.

C. Develop an action agenda designed to implement recommendations.

D. Establish a website with technology conferencing support network to assist schools after the conference.
