Troubleshooting the navigation bar

What to do if navigation bar is not displayed properly?

If you experience problems (example: the source code of the page is displayed instead of the actual page)  while trying to load your pages this may be caused by multiple factors one of them is the Internet's transfer rate, the other might be the size of your cache. The first thing that you should do is to refresh the web page. The next step is to increase the cache size. Please follow the instructions bellow in order to set the size of your cache so your pages will load properly.

Change the Size of the Cache

The "Cache" in your computer is a temporary storage area maintained by your browser.  This "Cache" or "History" area allows faster browsing because your computer does not have to download pages if they are already stored in the cache.  For example:  Each time you hit the back button on your browser, you are accessing a cached copy of the web page you were just visiting.

The suggested size for a large cache is 5 to 10 percent of your hard drive.

If you visit a lot of sites frequently, you may want to increase the size of your cache so it won't fill up quickly.  The cache will automatically dump the files when it is completely full.

If you surf new sites regularly and rarely return to the same sites, you will want to use a smaller disk cache.

For Internet Explorer:

To resize your Cache file on a PC, follow these steps:

1.  Go to the View menu, and select Options
2.  Select the Advanced tab and then choose Settings
3.  Move the "slider bar" to the right to increase the size and to the left to decrease the size

To resize your Cache file on a Mac, follow these steps:

1.  Click the preferences toolbar button and open the Web Browser submenu
2.  Click on Advanced
3.  In the Cache section next to Maximum size, type in the new size (in Megabytes)

Do the same to reactivate the features, by placing a check next to the options!

For Netscape (both PC and Mac):

To resize your Cache file in Netscape Communicator 4.01 or higher:

1.  Go to the Edit menu, and select Preferences
2.  Select the Advanced option by double-clicking on it and then choose Cache
3.  Type in the new size of your Cache (in Kilobytes)

To resize your Cache file in earlier versions of Netscape Navigator:

1.  Go to the Options pull down menu, and select Network Preferences
2.  Click the Cache tab
3.  Click on the arrow to increase or decrease the disk cache size

Do the same to reactivate the features, by placing a check next to the options!
